Political Scientist, Dr. Amoako-Baah says the support base of former President Rawlings has been strengthened in the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
According to him, the overwhelming victory for Mr. Rawlings� loyalists in the just ended congress is an indication that party delegates now listen to their founder.
The NDC after its congress is said to have been divided into the Rawlings bloc, the Atta Mills-Ahwoi faction and Mahama faction.
Majority of the newly elected executives including Chairman, Kofi Portuphy and National Organizer, Kofi Adams are in the Rawlings-Mahama faction whiles General Secretary, Johnson Asiedu Nketia, Vice Chairperson, Anita Desooso and others who are in the minority belong the Mills-Ahwoi faction.
Given this results, the Head of Political Science at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) on Asempa FM�s Ekosii Sen programme Monday said Jerry Rawlings has won the power tussle.
�The tag of war as between Jerry Rawlings versus Asiedu Nketia and it looks as if Rawlings has won� he stated.
Commenting on the invitation of former first lady, Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings back to the NDC, the Political Scientist said the possibility is high because �her husband seems to have sway in the party�.
Dr. Amoako-Baah noted that if the NDC formally invites Mrs. Rawlings, she will gladly accept.
