Everybody Must Be Part Of Nation-Building

Deputy Local Government and Rural Development Minister, Mr. Emmanuel K. Agyekum, has said every Ghanaian should find space to contribute to the nations growth. Nobody must stand on the sidelines or give in to cynicism but everyone must accept help in a united effort to make things better. He was addressing heads of department and staff of the Ejura-Sekyedumase Municipal Assembly as part of a days official tour of the area. The visit was to inspect on-going construction works on the Ejura town roads. It was also meant to provide an opportunity to interact with the people to appraise their concerns and the progress being made towards improvement of their living conditions. He was accompanied by Mr. Joseph Yamin, Deputy Ashanti Regional Minister and other high ranking officials. Mr. Agyekum called for strong work ethics, innovation and creativity to enhance performance. It should not be business as usual but workers must necessarily find new ways of doing things to achieve high level of efficiency and remove waste, he said. Earlier, during a courtesy call on the Ejurahene, Nana Kwaku Sarfo, Mr. Yamin announced the governments decision to return the Ejura Farms to the people. This would help to give the people, particularly, the youth, access to farmland to boost their livelihoods. Alhaji Mohammed Bawa, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), said the assembly was working hard to deliver development to the people and called on the people to stand solidly behind it.
