Akufo Addo In Town

While leading members of the party may want to behave like ostriches, The aL-hAJJ can report that the dire is cast and is just a matter of time that Ghanaians will witness a dramatic turn of events within the leadership of the main opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) as its 2016 flagbearer has defied medical advice from his doctors in the United Kingdom and sneaked into the country. Angst-ridden medical personnel tasked to provide medical assistance to the aging flagbearer have advised Nana Addo to at least stay in the UK for another two weeks to complete his medication, but the equally weary politicians in the NPP desirous of wining political power in next year have mounted massive pressure for the return of their leader to boost the confidence of their supporters. The leadership and strategists of the NPP have intended to use his abrupt return from the UK to quell the speculations of the not-too-good health of the flagbearer. With this strategy, it is unclear why the party refused or failed to publicize the arrival of Nana Addo and instead wrap it in secrecy. Even though the 2016 NPP flag bearer was scheduled to arrive into the country last Tuesday as reported recently by The aL-hAJJ, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo however on the blind side of the curious Ghanaian public, last Wednesday, jets down from United Kingdom to avoid the prowling lenses of the nosy media as well as his well-wishers, sources at the Kotoka International Airport (KIA) have confirmed. Many prominent members of the NPP including lawyer and retired captain, Nkrabea Effah-Dartey who got wind of his arrival, despite his physicians advice to stay in the UK for a while, and had rushed home to welcome him and re-affirm their unalloyed support and loyalty had the shock of their lives as they were prevented from seeing him for very strange and unknown reasons. Although the NPP has in the past organized and bussed party supporters to welcome Nana Akufo-Addo in similar situations at the Kotoka International Airport (KIA), conspicuously missing in last Wednesdays arrival was the usual fanfare and jamboree by NPPs fanatical supporters to welcome their twice-defeated presidential candidate. The aL-hAJJ is however, yet to establish reason/s why this particular arrival of the NPPs 2016 flag bearer was without the typical merry- making and elaborate media coverage, but party insiders say it may not be unconnected with reported deteriorating health conditions of the most successful Akyem-Abuakwa politician of present times. Ironically, some top brass members of the largest opposition party including its newly appointed Director of Communications, Nana Akomea, strangely, were unaware of the return of the former Abuakwa South Member of Parliament. On the morning of the day Nana Akufo-Addo sneaked into town, the NPP Director of Communications, on OK Fm, could not tell when their flag bearer will arrive, save to say he would be back home soon, hopefully by the end of the week. Nana Akomea was reacting to prophesy by the Founder and Leader of the Glorious Word Ministry, Rev Owusu Bempah on the political fortune of the NPP in 2016 and the future of its flag bearer on the Accra based Akan radio station. According to Rev Owusu Bempah, soon after his prophecy, Nana Akufo Addos men have approached him to pray to avert the likely calamity awaiting the party. The renowned man of God revealed that People pretending to love Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo but want his downfall should be very careful. I have seen them all and I know those burying live cows to destroy Nana Addos presidential ambition. There are so many things going on but I will work towards that. The controversial man of God earlier on New Year eve made scary predictions among which included the likelihood of the NPP losing the next presidential elections, adding that the party may witness a big funeral that would lead to another congress to elect a new flag bearer. In a riposte, Nana Akomea downplayed any suggestions of calamity befalling the party and the flagbearer saying he is very optimistic that his flag bearer will live to achieve his purpose for Ghana. "..Nana Addo is very fit for 2016, he is under the protection of the Almighty God. We (NPP) are expecting him from UK soon, he said. Incidentally, the same day Rev Owusu Bempah was making those chilling prophecies, his colleague senior pastor, Odifour Kwabena Tawiah, of the Church of Rabbi was echoing similar revelations to a highly packed auditorium. The well-known man of God, whose prophecies is said to have come to pass over the last 28 years, made the prophecy at the 31st night watch service at the Church of Rabbi headquarters in Accra. The founder of the Church of Rabbi cautioned the NPP during the December 31st watch night service not to make nonsense out of his predictions because the doom that befell the party in 2012 may repeat itself if the right steps were not taken. He called on Nana Addo and those close to him to take the necessary steps to avert any misfortune that would thwart the NPPs efforts in securing power in 2016. These prophecies come on heels of similar ones by a Kumasi-based Islamic spiritualist, Sheikh Mallam Musah in the run-up to the 2012 elections that Nana Akufo-Addo can never become president of Ghana. Reaffirming his predictions after Nana Akufo-Addos defeat at the 2012 polls, Sheikh Mallam Musah told that The Al-Hajj it would be an exercise in futility or better still trying to harvest dust to build a mud house if Nana Akufo-Addo should decides to contest for President again. But, the former Abuakwa South MP ignored that unsolicited advice and went on to secure the partys 2016 flag bearer slot for the third time.
