Drop That Yam..."Your Annoying Mahama" (YAM) Must Be Dropped In 2016 - Sammy Awuku

Sammy Awuku, National Youth Organizer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has charged Ghanaians to kick out the "annoying Mahama" out of government, come 2016. Addressing the state of Ghana's economy under the Mahama administration, Sammy Awuku noted that President John Mahama and his cohorts have been in government for the past seven years without any clue as to how to rescue Ghanaians from the economic doldrums that have placed them under. Speaking on Peace FM's flagship programme "Kokrokoo", the NPP National Youth Organizer bemoaned some statements by President Mahama's appointees claiming that the President has only been in government for two years but his achievements surpasses every other Ghanaian leader save Dr Kwame Nkrumah. A couple of days ago, the Agric Minister Fifi Kwetey assessing the performance of President Mahama's two years at the helm of affairs, noted that the current administration is more transformational than that of the erstwhile Kufuor-led government. He stressed that Ghana, under the Mahama government, has seen tremendous development than the eight-year rule of Ex-President Kufuor. Reacting to the issues, Sammy Awuku dismissed suggestions the current administration has been in power for only two years. When President Mahama took over after the death of late President Mills, he told us that he was the luckiest Vice President because he has been doing the job for a long time and if you are being assessed then you say it is only two years? he said with deep-seated sarcasm. He strongly held that Ghanaians must reject President Mahama at next year's general polls since he has failed the citizenry. To him, the relatively "youthful" Mahama is a failure and vowed to rather "vote for someone who is 140 years old and will be able to provide jobs, power and put an end to corruption. The young one we voted for has done nothing...." Cataloguing a litany of failed promises, the NPP National Youth Organizer stated that no government has ever burdened the citizenry with huge taxes than the current administration, yet in spite of that, "this government has and continues to over borrow and astronomically increase our debt pile". He added that despite the unprecedented oil revenue rolling into the national kitty, the Mahama-led NDC administration has woefully grounded the economy to a halt and added "one is deeply worried about the depth to which the economy is sinking". Referring to the Mahama-led government as a "yam", Sammy Awuku implored urged the electorate "to drop that yam. Your annoying Mahama must be dropped in 2016. Sammy Awuku vowed to spearhead a youth revolution with the aim of ensuring that President Mahama is voted out of power in 2016. "Ghanaians have now become visionless and directionless that is why we have to drop that Your Annoying Mahama (YAM)," he charged.
