The National Sports Authority has confirmed that the Accra Sports Stadium has temporarily been shut down for renovation. The Stadium has momentarily been put on hold the use of the Accra Sports Stadium till the end of January for some rejuvenation to be done on the pitch. The temporarily shut down is to enable handlers of the pitch work in other to refurbish the grass which has been deteriorated by the current harsh weather conditions as well as festive programmes held over the Christmas break. The temporal shut down will however not affect the upcoming First Capital plus Premier League since the home team Accra Hearts of Oak has been banned from two home matches hence will pave way for work to be done until January ending.
