Nayele Cocaine Saga: Pratt Flays Asiedu Nketia...And Calls For Decency

Managing Editor of the Insight newspaper, Kwesi Pratt Jnr has described as baseless allegations put out by the General Secretary of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) Nayele Ametefeh, who was sentenced to an 8yr jail term for drug trafficking, going to fund the New Patriotic Party (NPP) with proceeds from 12 kg cocaine she took to the United Kingdom. Johnson Asiedu Nketiah popular known as General Mosquito at a press conference, accused the New Patriotic Party (NPP) of being complicit in the Nayele Ametefe Cocaine Saga. He wants an investigation to be conducted to prove whether Nayeles trip to the UK was purely coincidental to the movement of the top gurus in the NPP for a fund raising event in London. But contributing to a panel discussion on PEACE FM morning show Kokrokoo, Kwesi Pratt Jr ridiculed the NDC's Chief Scribe's remarks and wondered why anybody would link Nayeles trip to the UK to the NPPs fundraising. According to him, that debate is unnecessary and expressed surprise that Asiedu Nketiah would say something like that. Why are we doing this to ourselves? There should be a bit of decency in our politics. Asiedu Nketiah has every right to express his mind but to say that the NPP was going to use the proceeds to raise funds for the NPP has no basis at all, he stated. He therefore urged politicians to stop shifting blames and trying to link every culprit to a political party, adding it is highly disgraceful
