Interior Minister's Arson Suspicion On Central Medical Stores Is Reckless And Prejudicial - Kabila

Former National Youth Organizer of the Convention Peoples Party (CPP), James Kwabena Bomfeh has described as reckless and prejudicial the arson suspicion of the Interior Minister, Mark Owen Woyongo over the Tema Central Medical Stores fire outbreak. Mr. Mark Woyongo upon his visit to the fire scene says he would not rule out arson and sabotage in the Central Medical Stores fire which occurred last Tuesday, January 13, 2015. At this point I cant rule out sabotage, arson and anything, he stated. But speaking on the issue on Oman FMs Morning Show, Kabila as he is popularly known said it was a reckless and irresponsible statement from the Minister ahead of investigations. He underscored that the suspicion of the Interior Minister should not be just an empty statement but rather should be grounded on something empirical; adding his suspicion is prejudicial as he has asked a committee to investigate to establish the cause of the fire outbreak. The suspicion is a problem, coming from the minister. You have asked a committee to investigate to establish the cause of the outbreak and so why are you prejudicing the work of the committee in the first place? That statement means the minister is narrowing the work of the committee; he is imposing certain unnecessary burden on the committee. You are forcing the committee to look for a way to rationalize and toll the line of the minister. The Interior Minister shouldnt talk by-heart and I will beg Hon. Mark Woyongo that as a minister his statement was prejudicial...what if the conclusion comes out different from his arsonist statement? What would have been the basis of his statement? he quizzed. He therefore advised all ministers to carefully make their statements in situations which demand investigations.
