Today can report that there has been loads of fireworks at Huawei Technologies S.A (Ghana) Company Limited which headquarters is in Osu, Accra. The development, according to information available to the paper, follows the persistent verbal abuse of about sixteen (16) National Service persons posted to the company by the National Service Secretariat (NSS) to undertake national service in 2014/ 2015. The abuse of the personnel by the company, according to sources, was so pervasive to the extent that management of NSS led by its deputy Coordinator, Mr. Michael Kunbuor, on Friday, January 16, 2015 led a delegation to the multi-national company to address the issue. A deep throat source told Today that at the meeting between management of Huawei and NSS delegation the latter resolved not to post service persons to the company, following the incident. Today has in its possession evidence which indicates how a senior Marketing Executive of Huawei Technologies Ghana, headquartered in Osu, Accra, abused the service personnel who were posted there. The evidence, which is a voice recording of the Head of Consumer Business, Huawei Technologies S,A Ghana Company Ltd., Mr. Michael Kafui Bosompem, revealed how he [Mr. Bosompem] verbally abused the service personnel. Probing into the matter, Today discovered that Mr. Bosompem used very insulting and denigrating words on the service personnel without any cause. And he did his worst on Friday, January 16, 2015 at an arranged meeting that involved himself and about 16 service personnel. Today was reliably informed that at the said meeting one of the personnel proposed that the company looked into why some of its phones were not selling. That infuriated Mr. Bosompem who burst out and started raining all manner of insults on the personnel at the meeting. And even when some of the personnel wanted him to see reason with what they were proffering, Mr. Bosompem asked them to shut up and go home. Hear Mr. Bosompem at the said meeting: ��do you understand� if you do not like it you can get out as well.� At this point a lady (NSS person) reacted by asserting that then �that makes you (referring to Mr. Bosompem) autocratic.� Obviously infuriated by the lady�s reaction, Mr. Bosompem went wild and fumed: �I do not give a fuck to it� Shut up! I am telling you. I don�t give a fuck about it.� Listening to the voice recording further it was clear that Mr. Bosempem was instrumental in asking management of the company to direct the Human Resource Department to terminate the company�s relationship with the service personnel. And according to information available to the paper the NSS which waded into the matter has reassigned 13 out of the 16 service personnel that were posted to Huawei. When Today reached Mr. Bosompem via phone, he flatly denied ever using any abusive words on service personnel working at his outfit. He was however quick to say that he was not the right person to speak to the issue. And when the paper quizzed him further, he stated that the 16 NSS persons had problems with the management of the company as a result of their inability to abide by laid down rules and regulations of the commercial operation of the company. However, Mr. Bosompem asked our reporter to cross-check the story from the Public Relations Officer (PRO), Legal Officer and Human Resource Management of Huawei S.A Technologies Ghana. In a telephone interview with the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of Huawei Technologies S.A (Ghana) Company Limited, Mr. Gideon Obeng, he confirmed that the attention of the company has been drawn to an altercation that ensued between some National Service persons and one of their senior marketing executives. But Mr. Obeng told our reporter that the company has an official statement which he later sent to the paper. Below is Huawei press statement on the matter.
