A suspected thief has been lynched at Awoshie Anyaa near the headquarters of Deeper Life Church in Accra.
The unknown man in his late 20’s was said to have broken into a house Sunday dawn. According to an eye witness, Richard Binlary, the occupant of the house saw the alleged thief breaking into his car and raised an alarm.
He indicated that the residents who had formed a vigilante group due to increasing rate of robbery in the area came out in their numbers and subjected him to severe beatings.
Richard Binlary said the young man said to be a taxi driver was left unconscious after people prevented members of the vigilante group from burning him to ashes.
