Dont Politicise Sports

After various levels of qualification matches, the Black Stars of Ghana made it through to the Africa Cup Of Nations (AFCON) 2015 and we appreciate the wonderful efforts by our players to qualify for the tournament in Equatorial Guinea and Gabon. We thank the Almighty God for his loving kindness.

No doubt, Ghana is a peaceful country cherished and loved by ‘most people from other countries. One particular problem affecting the growth and better progress of the country is disunity which often occurs in era such as playing of tournaments.

Ghanaians must accept and consider that we are one country aiming at one goal and that is; to come home with the trophy. We must avoid politicising when the Black Stars need the full support of Ghanaians to be motivated and to achieve their hearts’ desire. Ghana is a lovely nation and does not belong to any political party hence, the need to support the Black Stars as one nation to emerge the winner is paramount.

Therefore, every Ghanaian must enthusiastically support the Black Stars with one heart and wish our selected team all the best in the on-going AFCON. We must forget about our party colours and and bring forth the Flag of our dear Nation,  jubilating and supporting them with prayers in unison.

Football is a sure way of uniting us as Ghanaians. In spite of our polarised political environment, we must gather and watch our stars together whilst praying the same prayer.

Supporting our national team in football is like a religion and we must do it with passion without giving our political affiliations the chance to shine out.

It is about time Ghanaians go on their knees, fast and pray for the nation and the players for without prayers, Black Stars cannot perform very well.

There is also the need for the the players to work together with the technical team to ensure total victory.

The media, which also serves as the mouthpiece of the nation should do their best as always to create awareness for Ghanaians to desist from politicising sports, especially in football to avoid causing great harm to the nation.
