NDC Has Never Organized Demo Against Ex-Prez Kufuor Outside Ghana

On the heels of the disgraceful 18-man demonstration against President Mahama in Berlin exactly one week ago by NPP supporters has come the revelation that NDC supporters in foreign lands never once staged a demonstration in their host countries against President  Kufuor throughout his tenure of office as Ghana’s president.

Making revelation with specific focus on Kufuor’s visit to England, the former NDC UK/Ireland branch Organizer of the NDC, Alfred Boyan, said never once did they demonstrate against president Kufuor during his visit to England because despite their opposition to him, he was their President and needed to be treated with dignity.

Alfred Boyan made the revelation last week in an interview with Radio Gold’s Alhassan Suhuyini when the issue of the disgraceful conduct of the NPP supporters in Berlin came up for discussion. According to him, sometimes in 1995, when the then President Rawlings arrived in London to receive an honorary award degree from a University, NPP supporters demonstrated against him. Their behaviour on the day was such an eyesore that the NDC UK/Ireland branch vowed never to subject President Kufuor to such ridicules anytime he visits England.

When not in power, lobbying foreign governments not to give financial assistance to the government in power in Ghana and demonstrating against the sitting President of Ghana amidst insults when he visits foreign countries have been the stock-in-trade of members of the Busia-Danquah elements since the post-independent ear. The Busia Danqualist has been represented in Ghana by the uUtied Party (UP), Progress Party (PP), New Popular Party (NPP) and now the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

In 1963, they subjected Kwame Nkrumah to a 4-calling on the UK government not to grant financial aid to Ghana. They are known to have campaigned against the construction of the Akosombo Dam and the Accra-Tema Motorway which have over the years played very major roles in the socio-economic development of the country.

President Rawlings and Atta-Mills were targets of their venom in the United States of America and some European countries when they came visiting as sitting President of Ghana. Their latest target is President Mahama whom they have demonstrated against in the United States of America, England and Germany amidst insults.

In the US last year, a Somalia journalist, Yasmine Maxamuud, unable to withstand the shameful conduct of NPP supporters demonstrating against president Mahama accosted them and berated them for disgracing Ghana in the international arena.

NDC Supporters, despites their opposition to President Kufuor, especially in such matters as corruption, massive stealing from state coffers, the murder of Ya Na Andani Yakubu II and forty others and the killing of Rokko Frimpong among others refrained from behaving like their NPP counterparts when he visits foreign countries.
