Minister of Communications, Omane Boamah says government is putting in place stringent measures to deal with SIM Box fraudsters in the country. 

According to him, activities of SIMBOX fraudsters are very damaging to the nation, resulting in massive revenue loss to the state.

The former boss of GREDA, who is also the head of Lakeside Estates, Dr. Alex Tweneboah, is in the grips of the police for allegedly engaging in SIM box fraud.

Dr. Tweneboah and 17 others were arrested by the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service in a seven-month operation undertaken in collaboration with the National Communications Authority and SUBAH Info Solutions Ghana Limited.

Speaking on Asempa FM, Dr. Omane Boamah commended the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service, National Communications Authority and SUBAH Info Solutions Ghana Limited for that collaborative effort they used to track down these operators

 “We will chase these wicked people into their holes for the damage they have caused the nation. The state needs those monies for national development  and so we cannot allow that to happen, so it must stop” he noted.
