We Are Tired Of 'Dumsor.. Mahama Should Privatise ECG & KATH - Akua Donkor

Founder and flag bearer of the Ghana Freedom Party, (GFP) Akua Donkor has urged President Mahama to privatize both Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) and the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH).

Madam Akua Donkor’s call comes in the wake of the intense power outages which has collapsed businesses as well as a massive fall in the various hospitals.

She believes when private institutions are made to manage these institutions, there would be much improvement in the distribution of electricity and in the health sector.

“We are tired of this ‘dumsor dumsor’ games and so I am strongly calling on President Mahama to sell ECG, if he takes that initiative , dumsor will end because the people will manage it better…” she stressed on Adom TV News.

For the privatization of KATH, the GFD flagbearer noted that leadership of KATH is not competent enough in the discharge of their duties.

Citing the disappearance of babies KATH to butress his point, Akua Donkor said if the facility cannot gurantee the safety of new born babies, what is their use. She is convinced if the hospital it privatized, the workers there will wake up from their slumber.

“I can recall that even my daughter went there to deliver and my grandchild was stolen at the same hospital years ago. It is very bad and so it should be privatized also,” she lamented.
