Ecobank Partners MTN In Blood Donation Exercise Dubbed, 'Save A Life Campaign'

Not only has Ecobank Ghana tasked itself with providing financial service to Ghanaians but the pan African Bank, together with MTN have taken upon itself the life saving venture of organizing a blood donation exercise dubbed “Save a Life Campaign”.

The exercise, which took place at the fore court of the MTN office in Accra brought together Executives of Ecobank Ghana and MTN, in an effort to supporting the campaign that was started by the MTN Foundation.

"This explains why as part of our Corporate Social Responsibility, we have been committed to actively supporting the health sector in various forms".

"I believe lives have been lost due to non-availability of blood at critical times. There are widows, widowers and orphans out there simply because there was no blood available to save the lives of their relatives and loved ones. That is heart breaking," Mrs. Sappor said.

Mrs Sappor also praised MTN Foundation for the initiative and pledged Ecobank’s commitment to partner with the Foundation to embark on similar life saving activities.

In her speech,Mrs Cynthia Lumor, the Corporate Services Executive, said the exercise, in its 6th edition, has generated over 1,000 pints of blood that have since been distributed to the major health facilities across the country.

“Last year, through the concerted effort of donors, we were able to collect 625 pints of blood across the country, exceeding our 2014 target by 125 pints,” she added.
