Girl, 14, Stabs Her Rapist To Death

A 23-year-old unemployed man paid dearly with his life last Saturday for allegedly defiling a student in a bush at Akyem Abaam, near Kade, in the Eastern Region.

The victim, a 14-year-old girl, allegedly stabbed her assailant to death with a sharp kitchen knife.

The student is said to have stabbed her defiler, Kofi Amoako, in the stomach and on the neck while he was defiling her on an orange farm.

Victim rejects Amoako’s love proposal

Briefing the Daily Graphic in Akyem Oda on Sunday, the Oda Police Commander, Chief Superintendent of Police Mr Ebenezer Ampofo, said on Saturday, February 19, 2015, Amoako proposed love to the victim but she rejected the proposal and reported the matter to her parents.

He said around midday that day, Amoako met the victim, who also sold oranges, on an orange farm at Abaam and allegedly attacked her, forcibly removed her clothes and defiled her.

Mr Ampofo said while Amoako was engaged in the sexual act, the victim mustered courage and stabbed him in the upper abdomen.

He said Amoako, who was bleeding, got up immediately and had wanted to retaliate but the victim, who was still wielding the kitchen knife, quickly stabbed him again on the neck.

According to Mr Ampofo, Amoako ran into a bush, while the victim, who was traumatised, screamed for help.

He said when some Good Samaritans rushed to her rescue, she narrated her ordeal to them and showed them where her defiler had passed.

He said the rescuers traced Amoako and found him dead in a pool of blood.

He stated that the rescue team arrested the victim and sent her to the Kade Police Station to assist in investigations.

Mr Ampofo said Amoako’s body had been deposited at the St Dominic’s Hospital at Akwatia pending autopsy.
