Mr Frank Bodza, Programme Manager in Charge of Governance (WiLDAF), has called on women to re-orient and re-socialize themselves to be able to be at the forefront of affairs.

          Mr Bodza said if women did away with all the negative perception they had of themselves they would be able to challenge the status quo to achieve a lot in nation building.

          He said this when the Women in Law and Development in Africa (WiLDAF) organized a market place event to commemorate the International Women's Day Celebrations in Accra.

          He said the market place event was to share innovative tools adopted by Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) working towards the advancement of small holder rural women farmers in the area of access to agricultural resources, finance, extension services and access to land.  

          Mr Bodza said they were celebrating rural women since they had contributed greatly to over 70 per cent of food production.

          He  said the celebration of Women’s Day since its declaration 20 years ago during the Beijin Conference had brought about some form of achievements through the involvement of women in leadership roles, at work places, promotion of women to higher positions, women in politics and girl child education.

Mr Bodza said this had to continue to ensure that women soared to higher heights per the structures put in place to see women improve in the future.

          He appealed to the President to ensure that the Affirmative Action Bill was passed by the end of March 2015.

          Mrs Dela Sowah, the Deputy Minister, said the ministry was doing everything possible to have the Affirmative Action Bill passed.
