School Proprietor Assaults Teacher

The Amasaman District Court B has sentenced a school proprietor to three months imprisonment with hard labour.

Joseph Sampa was convicted based on his own guilty plea of assaulting one of  his teachers over money.

He was also expected to compensate the complainant with a sum of GH¢500.

According to the prosecutor, Sergeant Eric Aidoo Darko, Charlotte Kissiedu, a pupil teacher of the school, is the complainant in  the case.

He said at about 11:00 a.m. on March 2, 2015, Kissiedu went to Sampa to collect her salary arrears.

Sgt Darko said Sampa told Kissiedu that he didn’t have any money to give her but she persisted.

The prosecutor said Sampa became offended and gave Kissiedu a heavy blow on the right eye injuring her severely in the process.

A report was made to the police and Sampa was arrested.
