I Am At Risk; Someone Could Slap" Me Because I Defended Prez Mahama NDC Lawyer Cries

A member of President John Mahama’s legal team in the 2012 election petition case, George Tetteh Wayoe has expressed dismay that his plea to the president for a vehicle for his personal use has still not been granted.

The young lawyer, popularly known as “Ras Wayo” who claims to be part of the media team led by Nana Ato Dadzie and Alex Segbefia, says, he is still finding it difficult to make ends meet despite being a lawyer.

He claims his security is at risk because he still commutes by public transport [Taxi].

“You know, someone could just slap me in some ghetto all because they saw me on TV defending the president in the election petition case. I am not safe,” he said.

Lawyer Wayo noted on OKAY FM’s "Ade Akye Abia" morning show that he still owes his law lecturer an amount of Ghc 1,800 as tutoring fees. The amount, he said was to be paid by government, but a government functionary refused to honour it even after the president directed.

“I still owe my lecturer [Mr. Kwame Agyemang]. You can call him and ask. It’s worrying when people say the president paid all my school fees and that I am being ungrateful to him and the NDC. What will Mr. Kwame Agyemang say?

“Although the president ordered that my full fees should be paid…one man [Mr. Roger Kwesi Angsomwine] told me personally that he can’t pay all the money and that I should fund for the rest of the fees….can you imagine that?” he quizzed rhetorically.

According to the frustrated NDC lawyer, his inability to see the president personally has contributed to his woes.

“That is my main reason…I can’t personally see the President [Mahama]. Once I met Mr. Randy Abbey in traffic en route to Adenta [suburb of Accra]. I told him about my plight since he has access to the president quite easily, but after agreeing to lay my request before the president, he failed to do so,” he alleged.

“I need to protect myself and commuting daily by such means hasn't been that easy for me at all,” he added.
