Namibia Opens Mission in Ghana

Namibia has opened its mission in Ghana to help deepen bilateral relations between the two countries.

The mission, which will help facilitate travels between the two countries, is also expected to serve other nationals.

The High Commissioner, Mr Charles B. Josob, at a media launch of the office of the Namibian High Commission in Accra said his office would be opened to all for business.

According to him, Namibia had a very liberal investment climate that made it possible for investors to make money and  repatriate or reinvest the profits.

With the opening of the mission in Ghana, he said, there was going to be a lot of business prospects for the two countries.

He said it would also help facilitate the reintroduction of Namibia’s airline, known as ‘Air Namibia’ in Ghana.

Visa to Namibia

At a fee of $60 dollars, Mr Josob said, Namibia had a very welcoming visa regime which allowed tourists to obtain visas at a low tariff.

Hitherto, Ghanaians and other nationals in Ghana who wanted to travel to Namibia had to obtain their visas from Nigeria and according to the High Commissioner, this had now become a thing of the past.

Ghana and Namibia, he said, had a lot  in common in terms of tourism, business and other relations, and added that his country had a lot to learn from Ghana in the area of mining just as Ghana also had a lot to learn from Namibia in tourism development.

The relationship between the two, according to him, would be mutually beneficial.
