Senior pastor and visionary leader with Assemblies of God, (Faith Chapel) at McCarthy Hill in Accra, who has distinguished himself throughout his services to Christ and humanity, has been elevated and ordained as District Pastor.

Reverend Ben-Newlife Zotoo was officially inducted into office as the Weija District Pastor last Sunday by the Greater Accra Regional Superintendent of Assemblies of God, Rev. Dr. Joseph K. Basie and colleagues in a lively and well-organized ceremony held at the McCarthy Hill branch of the church.

Rev. Zotoo was inducted into office together with his two deputies, Rev. Philip Oppong as District Secretary and Rev. Emmanuel Mensah as the Treasure.

Delivering a sermon at the event, the spiritually charged Rev. Dr. Basie told packed congregation that, he has a lot of confidence in the new District Pastor and hope God gives him a “servant leader” attitude and wisdom to succeed.

The regional Superintendent, described as very discipline pastor without mincing words cautioned Rev. Zotoo to be mindful of himself and resolute during his four-year tenure in office, tasking him to lead his tenure follow principle.

He also advised the District Pastor to be focused and never allow the current position to change his enviable leadership quality in him, but rather unite and work collectively with his subordinate executives.

In his part, Rev. Zotoo told The Herald in interview that, he would build more churches as well as build the fallen standard of spirituality in pastors, Christians and churches under the district.

This he noted that, Christianity is losing its value and the world is gradually “eating into the church” for that matter, himself together with his team have in mind to build a strong Christian faith where they would do more teaching in order to instill discipline.

Giving his acceptance speech in presence of his mother, Madam Akosiwa Kudexa and Special Guest of the event, Togbui Amenya Fiti, Paramount Chief of Aflao, modest man of God said “It is a great privilege for me to stand here with my team to express our gratitude to God and all of you”.

Rev. Zotoo admitted, “I know this position calls for a lot of responsibilities and challenges but with God and by His grace and with your cooperation we can perform up to expectation”

He acknowledged that, “There are a lot we must do to sustain and advance where our predecessors have stopped and I believe we can achieve them all through the empowerment of the Spirit, our hard work and your commitment”.

The about 45years-old Senior pastor said “I also want to state here that, this leadership will not hesitate to fall on my predecessor for advice if the need be” adding “At this point, all I need is more of your prayers for the success of this new leadership”.

“I pledge my best in office for the District and Assemblies of God, Ghana as a whole. My vision and passion among others are firstly, the spirituality of the pastors, the churches and their members; support the growth of the churches, the pastors’ welfare and to join in the campaign of 3000 churches within five years” he stated.

Flanked by his two executives, the Secretary, Treasure and their spouse, the new district pastor said “I call on everyone in this district to embrace this vision and our district will shine better and experience more blessings”.

Present at the event was ACP Yousa Timothy Bonga, Deputy Greater Accra regional Police Commander who is also a member of the Faith Chapel, McCarthy Hill branch of the church and other dignitaries.
