Man 40, Wanted By Police �For Duping Businessman

The Criminal Investigation Department(CID) of the Ghana Police Service is currently on the tail of a 40 year old man called Amidu Alidu(a.k.a Billy) who is suspected to have swindled a gold buying agent called Simba Akiru to the tune of Gh¢50,000.00.

According to Simba, the incident happened in Bole in the Northern Region where Alidu was introduced to him by a friend in the gold buying business as the grounds-man who will lead him to the sellers in that area. He said, he had done four successful business with Alidu after his introduction to him until that fateful day of August 27, 2014 when the latter decided to bolt away with Gh¢50,000.00.

Simba narrated that, on that day August 27, 2014, they (himself and Alidu) had gone out to buy some gold and had returned home but decided to go back again to get some more. He said, half way their journey back to town to buy some more gold, Alidu asked to be excused to go back home ostensibly to charge his phone because his battery had run out but returned home and made away some Gh¢50,000.00 which was stashed somewhere in the room they both shared.

Simba explained further that he later returned home to find out that Alidu hadc stolen that amount of money and was nowhere to be found and his phone was also off. He said, after several attempts to get hold of him failed, Simba then reported the matter to the Bole Police Station.

But latter the case had to be transferred to Accra, CID headquarters after it was hinted that Alidu had returned to Accra and was residing in Teshie Ablezah, he said. The CID headquarters yesterday issued a wanted warrant on Alidu Amidu’s head.

Alidu Amidu hails from Atia-Nkama Nkwanta (Birim Central) in t5he Eastern Region and is dark in complexion.
