E/R Receives Equipment Ahead Of Sanitation Day

The Eastern Region, as part of hosting the fifth National Sanitation Day has received cleaning tools and materials from the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development to help improve upon sanitation in the Region.

The items include,10,000 waste bins, 50 wheel barrows,150 long brooms, 50 pieces of wellington boots, 200 pieces of gloves, 20 cutlasses, 50 rakes and 50 shovels.

Presenting the items to the Eastern Regional Minister, Mr Antwi-Boasiako Sekyere, the Minister of Local Government and Rural Development, Mr Collins Dauda, explained that, more of the logistics would be provided in the course of the week to make the exercise successful.

He thanked, all corporate organizations and other institutions, which had supported the exercise, so far.

Mr Antwi-Boasiako , assured the Minister that, the items received would be distributed to all the 26 Municipal and District Assemblies in the Region and assured that they would be use for them for the right purposes, during and after the exercise.

He, however, appealed to corporate institutions in the Region to support the exercise with logistics to overcome the task and challenges ahead.

He thanked the Local Government Ministry for supporting the Eastern Region with equipment for the national sanitation day exercise.
