I Wont Abandon Radio Totally If,.... - Abeiku Santana

Renowned Radio Broadcaster, Gilbert Abeiku Aggrey Santana has announced that his political ambition to become a parliamentarian will not take away his love for radio despite the demanding nature of Parliamentary proceedings if he gets the nod to represent NDC in Mfantseman West Constituency.

According to him, he is not going to abandon radio forever, insisting that if he gets the nod from the NDC delegates, he will not throw away his first love which is radio.

Once a soldier, always a soldier and so if I become MP, it doesn’t mean I should throw away my first love [which is radio]. If I get the opportunity to do magazine program with my off parliamentary hours, I will do it; I’m not going to abandon radio forever…….but I think it is time to move on with another plans”, he revealed.

Speaking to Kwame Nkrumah Tikese, the host of Okay Fm’s Ade Akye Abia Morning Show, Abeiku Santana indicated that his participation in the NDC race is to bring change in the way things are done in Parliament where decision will be taken in the interest of the people he represent and not necessarily his party [NDC].

Touching on people who should be in Parliament, the host of Ekwanso Dwodwoo on Okay Fm’s Drive Time said Parliament should be a composition of professionals and not a composition of Politicians, adding however that nobody went to a school of politicians before becoming a Member of Parliament.

He again stated that everybody is a politician in disguise so long as they speak in the interest of group of people, urging that everybody including musicians and footballers should go into the political field if the need arises because Parliament is a place for professionals whose different expertise are needed to build the nation.

He therefore assured that he will continue to speak for the people even if he doesn’t get the nod from NDC delegates to represent Mfantseman West Constituency, adding that he will become a Social Activist for Ghanaians regardless of once political affiliation.
