YFMs Presenters Rape Case Doesnt Add Up Franklin Cudjoe

The Founding President and CEO of IMANI Ghana, Franklin Cudjoe, has asserted that something does not “add up” about the alleged abduction and rape of a YFM presenter in Takoradi.

The female presenter, who was reportedly abducted and sexually assaulted for about five days, was discovered by the police at a hospital in Takoradi, where she has since been on admission.

Commenting on the development on Facebook, Mr Cudjoe expressed concern over an announcement by the Takoradi Police to the effect that the victim had been reported abducted four times in the past.

Stressing that he detested rape, the IMANI boss called on the Police to share what they found in the previous four cases involving the YFM presenter.

“We need to find a way of documenting if not profiling everyone in this country and it begins with a coordinated identification/ identity collection. That is why we need the National Identification Authority to lead honestly in this regard. There is too much fraud in this town,” he said. The YFM presenter's abductors reportedly sexually assaulted her and took pictures of the act, which they posted on Facebook. Some of the pictures have also been circulating on Whatsapp.

Graphiconline’s Moses Dotsey Aklorbortu visited her at the hospital and reported doctors as saying she was responding to treatment. She was asleep at the time of the visit.

Doctors reported that apart from a bloodied left eye, no other physical bruises were immediately noticeable on her. She looked restless and could not talk.

Her dreadlocked hair had been trimmed.

The Doctors told Graphic Online that she was brought to the hospital at about 1:30am Tuesday by two young men and a lady.

They said those who brought her to the hospital explained that she came to the house [her house] in Takoradi at about 12:30am looking restless and requested for food since she was hungry but she threw the food to the ground after it was offered to her.

They then rushed her to the hospital at Kwesimintsim from where she was referred to the GHAPHOA Hospital. She was sedated after admission.
