Mintah-Akandoh Explains His �Dining Hall Prefect� Brouhaha

“The fact of the matter is that, in most senior high schools, one of the most sensitive place is the dining hall. That is where all the hooliganisms starts from. So beng able to manage over 1,000 people at the dining hall and also maintaining peace and order in the school to curb destruction, I see that to be an achievement to have uplifted me to where I am today” - Kwabena Mintah-Akandoh

Those are the explanation given by the deputy Minister-designate for Water Resources, Works & Housing, Kwabena Mintah-Akandoh who stated on his Curriculum Vitae [CV] that his lifetime work experience is serving as a dining hall prefect while at the senior secondary school.

This came to light when he appeared before Parliament’s Appointment Committee on Tuesday.

However, his assertion has generated debate in the media, mainly between the opposition NPP and the ruling NDC as well as some concernd Ghanaians who claim he is not fit for the office appointed to.

Kwabena Mintah-Akandoh, the Member of Parliament for Juaboso however told ADOM FM that, he was sorry for the mishap after admitting that he erred before the Appointments Committee.

“I agreed that where I placed my job experience on my CV was wrong. I humbly agree and apologize. I don’t know why some people would want to ridicule me…I would have to be careful since I am yet to occupy that office,” he said. 

Akandoh also noted that, his working experience as a dining hall prefect will be omitted from his subsequent CV’s.

“I am ever ready to learn so if my attention has been drawn on that, I will not commit such blunder again,” he said. 

However, he debunked claims that he told the committee he has lost count of his children as being reported in the media.

“That is never through. I have five [5] kids and I am very proud of them,” he cleared the .
