The National Union of Petroleum Tanker Drivers Association has threatened to embark on a sit down strike on Monday April 20 to express their displeasure against directives issued by the National Petroleum Authority (NPA).
According to them, the NPA’s decision to install tracking devices on their vehicles is not the right move since they are lacking trucks at the place.
Secretary of the association Willam Adaarkwa who confirmed the intended action on Adom FM’s Midday News Friday said they have been compelled to embark on strike because NPA has taken them for granted and giving directions that goes contrary to their rules as drivers.
“NPA is really taking us for granted and in order to alert them that we are not happy, we will embark on strike action on Monday.Nobody will be allowed to work that day.
“We are not happy about the strategies and so they should come again. We want President Mahama to know what exactly is happening at NPA and so the best option is to strike and tell the world we are not happy” he said.
