Xenophobic: Mozambican Emmanuel Sithole Killers Appear In Court

The case against four men accused of killing Mozambican Emmanuel Sithole in Alexandra at the weekend has been postponed to next month.

Three of the suspects were arrested on Sunday, while the fourth was taken into custody last night.

Sithole's death made international headlines after images of his knife attack were published in the Sunday Times.

Mthinta Bhengu, Sifundo Mzimela, Sizwe Mngomezulu & Ayanda Sibiya are expected to apply for bail when they return to court on 4 May.

Emotions ran high after the case was postponed with some of Sithole's family members breaking down in tears.

EWN spoke to Sithole’s cousin who says she wants all four men to be sent to jail.

Outside the court, angry community members also vented their frustrations on media.

Police had to step in to diffuse tensions.

Meanwhile, the National Prosecuting Authority says it's confident it has a strong case against the four accused.

Security was tight with at least 10 armed police officers inside the courtroom, one of whom monitored the public gallery.

Members of the ANC Women’s League were also present as part of their anti-xenophobia campaign.
