2 Dead In Agbogbloshie Clashes

Two persons have been confirmed dead in a clash at Agbogbloshie ‘Sabolai’ market [Onion Market] in Accra, Tuesday.

The two, according to adomfmline.com lost their lives from gunshots fired in a clash at Agbogbloshie market.

The yet to be identified men died instantly when fight broke out between the Zamarama and Dagomba tribal groups at the market centre.
Adomonline.com reporter at the scene shortsighted some women crying at the loss of the dead persons.

Narrating the incident which trigged the fight, the reporter said that a young girl had gone to ease herself at a portion of land said to be occupied by a rival ethnic group.

But an earlier report according to the station’s reporter indicated that, the fight provoked between two men from the Zamarama and Dagomba tribal groups.

“An eyewitness told Adomonline.com that a man from the Zamarama ethnic group in a friendly manner threw onions he was selling at a Dagomba friend and that was the genesis of the clash,” the reporter said.

However, Peace FM’s reporter who was at the scene reported that, at least three persons were injured when the police fired a warning shot to despair the crowd from a possible bloody clash.

He noted that the police is guarding the market to maintain peace and order.
