Nkrumah Suffered In Vain.Blame Rawlings, Kotoka And Ndoum For Nations Wreckage

A former Member of Parliament (MP) for the Convention People’s Party (CPP) under former President Kwame Nkrumah's regime, Lucy Animwaa Anin, appears saddened by the country's current state of affairs.

Monday, April 27, 2015 marked 43 years of the death of Ghana’s first President, Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah.

Nkrumah never returned to Ghana, but he continued to push for his vision of African unity. He lived in exile in Conakry, Guinea, as the guest of President Ahmed Sekou Toure, who made him honorary co-president of the country until his death in Romania.

Speaking in remembrance of Nkrumah's demise, Madam Lucy Animwaa who happens to be the country's first female MP, bemoaned on Okay Fm’s "Ade Akye Abia" Morning Show that it is sad that Ghana has gone back to the era of the stone age, filled with darkness and hardship.

According to her, the numerous factories that Nkrumah built for Ghana have gone down the drain as successive leaders after Ghana's first president, sold all state properties, living no hope for Ghanaians under this current administration.

The vision God gave to Nkrumah is gone and this is the end of Ghana. Is this our forward ever and backward never era? People used to travel from afar to see Ghana but now there is nothing to see here….Why do we sit for Adome Bridge to collapse before we repair it? Nkrumah has suffered in vain; will Ghanaians have traveled to South Africa to be assaulted physically and killed if Nkrumah’s factories were still running in the country?” he quizzed.

Madam Lucy Animwaa also blamed the country's woes on past leaders who carried out coup d’état to stop the 7 year development plan of Dr. Kwame Nkrumah and later sold all state enterprises to their cronies and among themselves.

Kotoka and Rawlings are nation wreckers and a curse to the nation. What is the essence of coup d'etats? They sold the country’s properties for $40 million dollars and what was the outcome? Is this Kwame Nkrumah’s Ghana and Africa? All the coups organized by Kotoka, Rawlings and Afrifa, what importance did they bring to us?......they should have waited for Nkrumah to finish his 7 year development plan before these wreckers overthrew him,” she bemoaned.

She demanded from former President Rawlings how his wife, Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings came to be highest share-holder of state companies quizzing “did his wife, Konadu build Nsawam Cannery? How come she owns it?

Whiles stridently calling for the amendment of the 1992 Constitution saying the indemnity clauses enshrined in it favors Rawlingses, Ghana's first female MP also indicted founder of the Progressive People’s Party (PPP) Papa Kwesi Ndoum accusing him of cunningly diversifing some state enterprises to himself and his cronies as a consultant.

"....the 1992 constitution was made especially for Mr Rawlings to get away with his crime against the state...until we remove the name Kotoka from our International Airport, a curse will continue to follow Ghana,” Madam Lucy Anin added.
