Just last year, Ghana recorded over 20,000 cholera cases; out of which over 200 souls were lost.

This year, the country is leaving no stone unturned in controlling the outbreak of the disease and this was reiterated by the ministry of Local Government and Rural Development, Hon. Collins Daudu when he visited some areas in Accra to analyze measures put in place.

The minister personally visited the Makola, Kantamanto and Agbogbloshie Market at night to see how the place looked like after the day has ended.

Although he was impressed there was no rubbish standing as mountains compared to last year, he was not happy about the state of the gutters he saw around.

For this reason, Hon. Collins Daudu has directed the Accra Metropolitan Assembly, not to concentrate solely on collecting waste thrown on the streets but also, to clean the gutters at the market places on daily basis.
