Mr. Kwame Achampong-Kyei, Executive Chairman of GLICO GROUP was inducted into the prestigious Ghana Entrepreneurs’ Hall of Fame at an award ceremony organized by the Entrepreneur Foundation of Ghana, under the theme “Celebrating five years of honouring Entrepreneurial Excellence”.

The Entrepreneur Hall of Fame honours is an elite group of entrepreneurs who have been recognized and honoured by Entrepreneurs Foundation for their exceptional entrepreneurial achievements and accomplishments in creating economic and social values.

Out of one hundred and twenty entrepreneurs honoured by the foundation, thirty most outstanding entrepreneurs were inducted into the prestigious Entrepreneurial Hall of Fame on Friday, 24th April 2015.

Deservedly, Mr. K. Achampong-Kyei is the Founder and Executive Chairman of GLICO Group Limited. A company he founded in 1987 as Gemini Life Insurance Company (GLICO), has now grown to a group status with six subsidiaries specializing in insurance and financial services.

For his outstanding entrepreneurial contributions, Mr. K. Achampong -Kyei has also won prestigious awards including the Presidents Club Membership, the International Quality Award in Life Underwriting (1980) from the Life Insurance Marketing and Research Association, USA.

In addition, he was awarded the Gold Award of the American International Group (1982), the CIMG Marketing Man of the Year (2008) and the Best Entrepreneur in Insurance (2010) instituted by the Entrepreneur Foundation of Ghana (EFG).

On receiving the award, Mr. K. Achampong -Kyei commented that, “it is humbling to be recognized for ones contributions towards the socio-economic development of Ghana. This award spurs me on to contribute more in generating new ideas and growing new companies to serve Mother Ghana."

The Entrepreneurs’ Hall of Fame awards was held at the State Banquet Hall, Accra, under the auspices of the Ministry of Trade and Industry. Present at the awards ceremony were state dignitaries, entrepreneurial geniuses and executives from the Ghana Business community.

It is instructive to note that, the vision of Mr. K. Achampong-Kyei, Executive Chairman of GLICO GROUP is for GLICO "to be a leader, a world class organization, and a brand of choice in Ghana and the West African sub-region". And, this vision is ably being implemented by  GLICO LIFE, GLICO GENERAL, GLICO FINANCIALS SERVICES, GLICO PROPERTIES, GLICO PENSIONS and GLICO HEALTHCARE, subsidiaries forming the GLICO GROUP.
