Akufo-Addo is Worried On Current Happenings In The NPP

Nana Akufo-Addo is very worried about the current happenings in the NPP.  As leader of the Party, he has been consulting and within the next few days, he will speak out to calm nerves.”

The above is part of revelations by a leading member and youth leader of the New patriotic party (NPP), Mr. Anthony Karbo, disclosing to Ben Ephson, on last Friday’s Ephson’s File on Starr 103.5 FM, on how Nana Akufo-Addo felt.

Karbo was commenting on last Thursday’s incident in the upper East regional capital of Bolgatanga where some members of the NPP attempted to manhandle the National Chairman Mr. Paul Afoko and Mr. Kwabena Agyapong, the General Secretary. The two had gone to the region to have a series of meetings towards the June 13, 2015 primaries to elect the party’s 2016 Parliamentary candidates.

Apparently, the two had gone to the region without the knowledge of the NPP Upper East Regional Chairman and some of the national executives.

On the Bolgatanga problem, Karbo said “we must condemn, in no uncertain terms, the attitude of the supporters who wanted to beat up these two national officers, however, the Party will also have to investigate if it was true that the trip to the upper East Region and planned meetings were being done on the blind side of some regional executives, including the Chairman.”

Regarding the tensions among the national executives, Karbo was blunt, “I believe for some of them, their ego is the problem.

Questioned regarding comments by Mr. Agyapong that he spoke to Nana Addo and told him his piece of mind, Karbo said, “I think Kwabena (Agyapong) allowed comments and criticisms to worry him. We all talk to Nana Akufo-Addo but we do not come out to reveal in public, the nature of the conversation.”
