Two Senior Lecturers Honoured

The Department of Political Science of the University of Ghana, has honoured 2 Senior Lectures of the department for their long, dedicated and selfless service to the University and the department in particular. They are Mr Francis Kofi Drah 62 years, who has served the university for 45 years and Professor Kwame Akon Ninsin who has also lectured in the university for 33 years. In a citation, the Department of Political Science among other things said, as a lecturer and former Head of the department of Political Science, Mr Francis Kofi Drah has taught almost all the current crop of lecturers in the department and mentored them to attain their current positions. The citation for Prof. Kwame Akon Ninsin recognized him for his contribution to the curriculum development of the Department of Political Science, restructuring the Bachelor of Arts (BA) and M. Phil Syllabi of the Department in 2003 and 2008 respectively. The Department as part of the honour, named its conference room after Mr. Francis Kofi Drah and the Library after Prof. Kwame Akon Ninsin. The head of the Political Science Department, Prof. Kwame Boafo-Arthur said the contributions of the 2 senior lectures of the department cannot be quantified in monetary terms and urged other lecturers to emulate their good example. The Vice Chancellor of the University of Ghana, Prof. Clifford Nii Boi Tagoe praised the department for honouring the two senior lecturers adding that, a nation which does not honour its heroes is not worth dying for.
