NPP Under Nana Addo Has Become An Infantile Party - Baah Acheamfour

Spokesperson for Save NPP Now, a group that believes the party's flagbearer has failed to unite factions within the opposition party, Mr. Baah Acheamfour, says Nana Akufo Addo must be held responsible for current happenings in the NPP.

The group therefore wants him to stand down as flagbearer.

There is apparent division in the NPP following the murder of the party’s former Upper East Regional Chairman, Mr. Adams Mahama.

There have been series of calls from party members who have demanded for the resignation of their National Chairman, Mr. Paul Afoko and General Secretary, Mr. Kwabena Agyepong.

However, Mr. Baah Acheamfour appears to be on the opposite side and has claimed on Peace FM that until Nana Akufo Addo is flushed out as flagbearer, the NPP would not know peace.

“The party has had many Chairmen but Nana Addo has always had a bone to pick with all of them. We had Peter Mac Manu and because he disliked him, he got him out. Then came Jake Obestsebi-Lamptey, his own bosom friend; but in the end he got him out.”

“We now have Paul Afoko and he wants to oust him and bring in Freddie Blay- a man who has finished destroying the Convention People’s Party and is on the move to destroy our party”, he said.

According to him, Nana Addo's move to get Freddie Blay incharge would bring back issues of the NPP being an Akan party.

“Our party has always been tagged an Akan party but ever since we had Paul Afoko in as Chairman, the National Democratic Congress has talking about it. Nana wants to bring in Freddie Blay and revive that debate”, he said.

He attributed that all the infantile behaviour displayed by senior members of the party was as a result of the troubles created by Nana Akufo Addo.

“The entire problems within the party were created by Nana Akufo Addo. Until he steps down as flagbearer, there is no way we would know peace”, he said.
