John Boadu Replies Afoko: I've Never Written Any Letter...Ask The G.S Why I Met With The EC

Following the letter from the National Chairman of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Paul Afoko asking the Electoral Commission to ignore and nullify an earlier letter allegedly written by John Boadu, the partys National Organizer; the latter has fired a riposte.

National Chairman of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) Paul Afoko, in a letter dated May 27, 2015, asked the Electoral Commission (EC) to ignore any letter which is not signed by the party's General Secretary, Kwabena Agyepong.

According to reports, this letter was to stamp their (Paul Afoko, Kwabena Agyepong) authority on the National Executive Committee and also to ensure that nobody does anything without their knowledge.

The letter was also to nullify an earlier one allegedly written by the party's National Organizer, John Boadu concerning their upcoming polls.

However, in an interview on Okay FMs "Ade Akye Abia" Morning Show, John Boadu explained that the partys relationship with the Electoral Commission is not about letter writing; stressing he has never written any letter to the Electoral Commission.

He explained that the General Secretary of NPP, Kwabena Agyapong on April 23, 2015 asked him [John Boadu] to represent the party on his behalf at a meeting he (Agyapong) scheduled with the Electoral Commission since he [Agyepong] was on a trip to the Central Region.

I am not the General Secretary of the party so I dont write letters; I work as the National Organizer of the NPP.I, John Boadu, National Organizer of NPP, I have never written any letter to the EC; our dealing with EC is not about letter writing, he denied.

He further explained that Kwabena Agyepong mandated him to represent the party at a meeting with Amadu Sulley at the Electoral Commission to discuss NPPs nominations, vetting, notice of polls, albums and balloting.

He maintained that his meetings with the EC - three times in all - were in the presence of the partys Director of Elections, Mr. Martin Adjei Mensah Korsah; adding he gave his boss a written report after all the meetings he had with the EC.
