Farmer Confesses In Court: Afoko & Agyepong Hired Me To Kill NPP MP

In a hurried attempt to bring shame upon an aspiring parliamentary candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), a ‘hired killer’ made a shocking disclosure to a presiding judge at the Goaso Magistrate Court that Messrs Paul Afoko and Kwabena Agyepong gave him an assignment to "murder" a legislator.

Wahab Abubakar, a farmer, told Justice Kweku Twumasi in open court that the failed plan was hatched by Mr. Afoko, the National Chairman for the NPP, Mr. Agyepong, NPP's General Secretary and Hon. Robert Safo, the Member of Parliament for Asunafo North; who incidentally was the one to be killed.

According to Peace FM’s correspondent in Goaso, King George, Wahab disclosed to the court that the entire idea was to bring shame upon Evans Bobie, an aspiring NPP MP who Hon. Robert Safo considers a threat to his parliamentary ambition during their primaries.

Filing a report on proceedings in court during PeaceFM News @ Midday, he recounted that the motive was to make Evans Bobie unpopular in the run-up to the party's parliamentary primaries to pave way for Hon. Robert Safo to go through without any hiccups.

He was promised an amount of GHC 4500 by Hon. Robert Safo to pretend he was going to murder him. But to his disappointment, he was only given an advance payment of GHC 150 and a bottle of champagne.

The twenty eight years old ‘hired killer’ had earlier lied to the court that Evans Bobie contracted him to murder Hon. Robert Safo, the MP for Asunafo North but was quick to let the truth out when the judge slapped him with a two 2 year jail term.

The judge asked him if he had spoken to any of his contractors of which he responded in the affirmative. He revealed that whilst in detention, he spoke to Mr. Kwabena Agyepong and informed him that the job he detailed him to do had landed him in deep trouble.
