Prepare For More Rain - Meteorological Service warns

The torrential rain which claimed lives and properties on Wednesday night is just the beginning of the rainy season according to the Ghana Meteorological Service.

The service is urging the citizenry to be more security conscious anytime the rains start to save their lives.

Large parts of Ghana's capital Accra were submerged following an over four-hour downpour, leading to the loss of lives and property.

The security agencies and city authorities are currently in a crunch meeting to find a lasting solution to the flooding which ocured after just one night of rain.

But Michael Padi of the Ghana Meteorological Service is warning that this is just the beginning.

Speaking on Asempa FM Thursday, Mr Padi said the rains will be more intense in the coming weeks.

The Southern part of Ghana will definitely experience more heavy rains, he warned and advised fishermen to be cautious when they head out to sea.

Michael Paddi called on Ghanaians to keep to higher grounds when the clouds gather and begin to discharge rain.
