Flood Disaster: Prez Gnassingbe In Town To Tour With Mahama

Togo President Faure Gnassingbe has arrived in Ghana to commiserate with the fellow West African nation on the fire and flood disasters that have afflicted it.

Gnassingbe and Ghana’s President John Mahama will tour the hardest hit areas including, the GOIL filing station at the Kwame Nkrumah circle in Accra and the Paloma Hotel.

More than 100 people have been confirmed dead following an explosion at the fuel station after several hours of a heavy downpour which also flooded the capital.

President Mahama has declared three days of national mourning for the victims beginning Monday. The Ghana national flag will fly at half-mast during the mourning period.

The government has also announced a Ghc 50million relief package for the affected individuals.
