Accra Floods: Ghana�s Under-20 Wears Black Armband To Sympathize With Deadly Flood-Goil Victims

June 3, 2015, has been dubbed ‘Black Wednesday’ in Ghana after a heavy downpour which flooded almost the whole of Accra.

About 150 people were killed on Wednesday night in a blaze at the Kwame Nkrumah circle branch of Goil filling station.

Others were killed by the flood after hour’s of downpour.

However, Ghana’s Under 20 squad - Black Satellites currently playing in the FIFA U-20 World Cup tournament in New Zealand sympathized with the deadly flood victims by putting on a ‘black armband’ during their group final match with Panama.

All the players including their technical team wore the black armband to show solidarity with the people of the country who have been thrown in a state of mourning.
