The Managing Editor of the Daily Searchlight, Kenneth Adjei Kuranchie, has vowed to beat his contenders to become the parliamentary candidate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Okai Koi North Constituency to change the trend of events in the constituency.

“My mission is to offer a fully transparent, accessible, hardworking and visionary leadership, a leadership that charts a new direction and focus for the NPP in the constituency,” he said.

The aspirant made this known at launch of his campaign towards the upcoming NPP parliamentary primaries.

Mr Kuranchie said, among the areas he would strengthen in the constituency if given the mandate would be party cohesion and development, women empowerment, youth development, support for men development, and development agenda for infrastructural.

Speaking to the delegates, the Editor stated that he had been one of the staunch supporters of the great Elephant party, having contributed meritoriously to party programs across many levels.

On his contribution to the NPP at national level, Mr. Kurachie said he had been a patron of the NPP since 2008. In 2007 and 2008, he said he had been a member of the National Communications Team- a key arm of the National Campaign Team.

Following the electoral loss of the party flag bearer, Nana Akufo Addo in the 2008 general elections, Mr. Kuranchie was drafted into the National Campaign Team of Nana Akufo Addo in the race for flag bearer.

Subsequently Mr. Kuranchie was a formidable member of the National Communications Team and at a point was attending up to twelve radio programs each week, which made him a virtual household name. He has been a staunch defender of the New Patriotic Party, and in pursuit of his objective of defending this party to the last breathe, he challenged the Supreme Court of Ghana in 2013, because he believed the court was being unfair to the NPP in the famous presidential election petition. He was consequently incarcerated for ten days.

On his contributions made to the NPP at the regional level Mr.Kuranchie said he was a member of the regional communication team in 2008 and again in 2012, after the team called upon his expertise because of his long-standing association and collaboration with members of the team.

For instance, he said, during the primary to elect  the party’s current constituency executives, he supplied the primaries with 700 bottles of soft drinks and 650 piece of pie at a cost of GH¢2000.00.
