Kofi Jumah Arrested (PHOTOS)

Reports available to Peacefmonline.com indicate that the former Member of Parliament for Asokwa constituency, Maxwell Kofi Jumah, has been arrested by the Ashanti Regional Police.

Samson K. Nyamekye, Ashanti Regional PEACE FM correspondent reported that Hon. Kofi Jumah who is seeking re-election was apprehended Saturday morning for vandalizing ballot boxes in the ongoing New Patriotic Party (NPP) Primaries at the constituency.

Reasons why he undertook such action still remain sketchy, however Peacefmonline.com can state that the former Parliamentarian has been picked up by the Police and may face the full rigors of the law.

Sampson Nyamekye has also reported that the Ashanti Regional Chairman, Bernard Antwi Boasiako, also called Chairman Wontumi, and a host of dignitaries have gone to the constituency to help restore calm.

Meanwhile, the election at the Asokwa constituency has been suspended and the NPP Ashanti Regional executives are working on seeking bail for Kofi Jumah popularly known as Kofi Ghana; so that the election at the constituency can go on.
