Delegates Fight Aspirant In Suame Over Microphone

Parliamentary aspirants in the Suame Constituency were all given ample time to have a final word with delegates before elections started.  But the last words from Lawyer John Darko, an aspirant, spiked some delegates and propelled them to create a chaotic scene.

Lawyer John Darko is reported to have taken a swipe at the incumbent MP, Hon. Kyei Mensah Bonsu when he said the latter has stayed in office for long and brought less development to the area.

His choice of words during the forum charged the Youth Organizer for the area, Yussif Mohammed to step forward and fight him on the podium. According to the Ash FM reporter who reported the news, the Youth Organizer demanded the parliamentary aspirants to give him the microphone and sit down.

Other delegates who opposed Mohammed’s action also joined the outburst and it continued for long until Mr. F.F. Antoh, a former Regional Chairman in Ashanti Region, came in to cool tempers.

Five hundred and eleven (511) delegates have been mandated to vote in the area.
