NPP Primaries: Incumbent MPs Lose Seats (PROVISIONAL)

Incumbent NPP Member of Parliament for the Nkawkaw constituency, Eastern Region, Eric Kwakye Darfour, has lost his seat to Emmanuel Ampomah in the ongoing primaries of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

According to provisional results, the incumbent polled 208 and Emmanuel Ampomah won by 303 votes.

Another aspirant in the same constituency, Joyce Opoku-Boateng, a private legal practitioner also polled 101.

If these results are confirmed, Emmanuel Ampomah will now contest on the ticket of the NPP in the 2016 elections.

Fomena Constituency

Kingsley Ata Boafo, incumbent Member of Parliament (MP) in Fomena Constituency, Ashanti region has also lost his seat with 66 votes.

He lost to Lawyer Andrews Asiamah who polled 125 votes.

272 out of 278 delegates voted.

Speaking in an interview on PEACE FM, Saturday, he conceded defeat, saying he will do all he can to support Lawyer Asiamah win the 2016 election.

Bantama Constituency

The Member of Parliament for Bantama Constituency in the Ashanti Region, Henry Kwabena Kokofu, has also been voted out by delegates.

He managed to poll 255 votes as against the 287 votes garnered by the candidate-elect Daniel Aboagye.

Birim North

Meanwhile, Member of Parliament for Birim North in the Eastern Region, Esther Dapaah has lost her seat to John Osei.

She lost by 125 votes and John Osei won by 230 votes.

A third contestant, Christine Antwi managed to get 18 votes.
