You Still Have Important Roles In NPP - Nana Addo Tells Defeated MP's

Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, Presidential Candidate of the New Patriotic Party, has reminded incumbent Members of Parliament who were defeated in their primaries held at the weekend about the fact that they still remain integral part of the party. To the sitting MPs who lost, I applaud their service to our party and nation and ask them not to be disheartened. They have important roles to play in the forward march of the party, Nana Addo stated in a release issued yesterday. He noted that internal party contests, are not about winners and losers, but about the party winning. Thus, in the true spirit of our partys tradition, I urge all party members and sympathizers to rally behind their respective parliamentary candidates to strengthen further our resolve and singleness of purpose to capture power in 2016, Nana Addo added. He appealed to those who were successful in the primaries to reach out and bring on board their fellow aspirants who did not win, adding unsuccessful aspirants should in their turn also reciprocate this gesture. He congratulated the newly-elected parliamentary candidates on their victories, as well as all party executives, delegates and aspirants for the peaceful, credible, efficient and successful manner in which the elections, the last in the series of our internal contests, were conducted. Nana Akufo-Addo described the primaries as exiting and competitive, adding that the high level of participation, enthusiasm and camaraderie the elections generated among party activists give an indication of collective energy and commitment to the struggle ahead in 2016. He drew the attention of the partys members to the fact that, for the great majority of Ghanaians, the NPP is the obvious alternative to the failing government of the Mahama-led NDC. It is for us to show them that we can win the 2016 elections, so that we can take our nation out of the desperate conditions into which she has been plunged and put her back onto the path of progress and prosperity. We must forge ahead, in a united manner, in our quest to restore hope to Ghanaians. This is our sacred duty. Let us be up and doing, he charged them.
