Drivers Commended For Saving Pregnant Women

Victor's Foundation for Education and Development, V-FED, a foundation owned by Ghana's High Commissioner to the United Kingdom (UK), Ambassador Victor Smith, has made its maiden donation of 1,000 exercise books to 140 needy pupils drawn from 20 primary schools in the Abuakwa North constituency.

In a speech read on behalf of the Ambassador by the General Manager in Charge of Operations for the Foundation, Umar Yussif, Mr Smith said he has no intention of contesting the Abuakwa North Parliamentary seat again in 2016, but has affirmed that he will continue to seek for development for the people of Abuakwa North, hence, the formation of the foundation to serve as a channel of development for the area.

Ambassador Smith mentioned that enhancing quality education through the provision of educational resources to schools in the constituency and improvement sanitation and health by helping in educating the people in various communities, as well as empowerment of the people are the main objectives of the foundation.

Ambassador Smith who was the Eastern Regional Minister stressed that he is committed to ensuring transformation in the economy, job creation, health and education in Abuakwa North. He called on chiefs and people of the area to support the initiative.

The Chief of Kukurantumi who doubles as the Adontenhene of Akyem Abuakwa Traditional Council, Daasebre Boamah Darko endorsed the initiative by Ghana's High Commissioner to UK and said it would help raise the standard of education in the area.
