Omane Boamah Spreading ICT Centers

The Minister for Communications, Dr Edward Omane Bramah, has inaugurated two Enhanced Community Information Centres in the Eastern and Volta regions, to help bridge the technological gap in the two regions.

The two Community Information Centres, were inaugurated in the Agotime-Kpetoe in the Volta region and Anum in the Eastern region, to assist students in the two areas to learn the fundamentals of Information Communications Technology (ICT).

Dr. Omane Boamah, together with students and Chiefs in the two areas, inaugurated the two (2) Enhanced Community Information Centres, as part of ICT rollout policy for 2015 to make it accessible to all in the country.

The centers, were later handed over to the Chiefs and people of Anum and Agotime-Kpetoe, respectively.

This inauguration forms part of the second batch of the 21 Enhance Community Information Centres (ECIC) to be inaugurated this year, as part of the government’s policy to make Information Communication Technology available to the rural areas, to bridge the technological gap.
