Plans are said to be advanced at the Tema Oil Refinery (TOR) to dispose some of its workforce in order to reduce the number of staff of workers in the organization.
The Acting Managing Director of TOR Mr. Kwame Ampoful who disclosed this to the media explained that they are over staffed and therefore there is the need to lay off some of them since they are not adding anything to the company.
He stated �they are more than the required number of staff, so we have to lay some of them off.� He however, failed to reveal the date for the exercise but said it will be sooner than later.
