Solomon Nkansah Must Apologize For "Insulting" Ashantis

A group calling itself the Ashanti Artisans Association has descended heavily on the National Communications Director of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), Solomon Nkansah over some remarks he made about the Ashanti Region.

Solomon Nkansah was quoted to have said that "nothing good seems to come from the region."

In a quick riposte to the NDC National Communicator's assertions, the group expressed strong disgust at what they refer to as "unsavory" comments by the Solomon Nkansah.

According to the group, the comments are an affront to the people of Ashanti descent.

"We are not surprise for his courage to insult the people of Ashanti region. He is just following the path his political masters. Not long ago, President Mahama described us as "ungrateful and unappreciative beings" without apology.

"Why is Solomon Nkansah deeming those living and coming from Ashanti region as useless...It beats our imagination how a party guru like Solomon Nkansah could stoop to this lowest level to haul invectives on the good people of Ashanti region and yet being praised by his co-party gurus."

In statement copied to Peacefmonline.com, the group called on President John Mahama to compel him (Solomon Nkansah) to render an apology to the region.

"Our region is all that we have. We respect and cherish it."

ASHANTI ARTISANS ASSOCIATION
ASHANTI REGION USELESS?
NDC SOLOMON NKANSAH MUST COME AGAIN

According to Solomon Nkansah - the National Communication Officer of the ruling NDC, apart from His Royal Majesty Otumfuo, there is no useful human being who hail or reside in Ashanti Region.

His statement means that from Her Royal Highness Afia Pobi - the queen mother of the Ashanti Kingdom to a day old child in the region are all useless. Solomon Nkansah may try to defend himself by saying that he attributed it to politics.

If so we ask - Why was Otumfuo's name mentioned? Is Otumfuo a politician? If such a statement could come from no one than the spokesman of a party in government then is very rich.

To open up his statement, the chiefs in the kingdom, Former President Kufuor who also hail from the region, the former ministers from the region, Former First Lady Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings, Dr. Oteng Agyei, Yaw Obimpeh, P. V. Obeng (the late), the current Ashanti regional minister and his deputy, the various NDC MPs, MCEs and DCEs who hail from the region, the people of Asawase, Fante newtown, the various Zongo communities, Anloga areas dominated by our Northern, Volta, Gas and Fante new town together with the entire natives of the region worth nothing good.

We are not surprise for his courage to insult the people of Ashanti region. He is just following the path his political masters. Not long ago, President Mahama described us as "ungrateful and unappreciative beings" without apology.

Why is Solomon Nkansah deeming those living and coming from Ashanti region as useless? Is it because Joseph Yamin squandered million of cedis at the sports ministry? Is that the reason why President Mahama dumped that garbage on us as deputy regional minister? Is it because Kojo Osei Bonsu misused the money meant to develop the region by putting up Billboards? or because Muntaka who comes from the region spent Ghana's money on pampers?

The NDC government which Mahama is leading as president and Solomon Nkansah as a party executive has no respect for the people of Ashanti region. Solomon's statement makes us understand why Ashanti region has been humiliated by the NDC government.

Ashanti region is witnessing the worst of the dumsor which has become a canker on Ghanaians. Youth unemployment and social insecurity is overwhelming the region. No wonder the NDC government started their so-called capitation experiment from the region.
Isn't it the dream of Solomon Nkansah's NDC to garnish 1 million votes from the region? Why should the NDC yearn the votes of useless beings?

It beats our imagination how a party guru like Solomon Nkansah could stoop to this lowest level to haul invectives on the good people of Ashanti region and yet being praised by his co-party gurus.

We the Artisans of Ashanti region are convinced that what Solomon Nkansah said is the collective voice of the NDC. President Mahama is backing him if not he would have reprimanded him or forced him to render public apology.

Ashanti region is proud of itself and it fruits. Ashanti region has produced scholars, Lawyers, judges, businessmen and women whose reputation, even given him (Solomon) thousand years can't accomplish. For his information, the FM station on which he aired those stupid remarks is owned by an Ashanti man (Osei Kwame Despite). Thank God that a man from Ashanti region has been able to put up such platform whereby nonentity like him could make his voice heard.

The accommodative nature and the natural capabilities of the people of Ashanti region has no match. It is painful that the benevolence of the people of Ashanti region is being repaid with envy. We take pride in our hardworking capabilities and a common sense of belongingness.

We respectfully call on our traditional leaders of the region and the leadership of the Methodist Church of Ghana which he is a member to call Solomon Nkansah to explain to us what he meant by "nothing good comes from Ashanti region"

Our region is all that we have. We respect and cherish it.
Useless beings won't give NDC one million votes. Trust us.

…......Signed..........
