The Delhi Public School International (DPSI) has ended its academic year on a high note with a funfair to crown a successful term which recorded several laurels.

The school organized various activities at the Tema Community 25 campus for students and staff aimed at building a good relationship and to celebrate a year that has placed DPSI on the lips of many parents and educationists including the Deputy Minister of Education, Hon. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa.

Male students in the upper grades locked horns with male teachers in a thrilling footballer encounter but couldn’t rise to the occasion as the teachers beat them woefully. Female teachers also proved to their female students that they will always be the bosses as they outclassed the girls in a throw ball competition.

Students also participated in 100m, 200m and relay track events with winners receiving certificates.

Pupils in the lower grades were not left out as they showcased creative artistic talent in drawing and painting. Students participated in musical chairs and other colourful activities like balloon bursting while others enjoyed some educative movie shows.

There was abundant food and drinks to share in a typical “our day” style as the students marked the last day before departure for holidays.

The school has received plaudits for its ultramodern infrastructure and excellent teaching methods.

DPSI won the National Spelling Bee for the third consecutive year and recorded the best performance for Ghana at the 88th Scripps Spelling Bee in the United States of America.

Twelve students are also representing Ghana at the ongoing World Scholar’s Cup in Malaysia. Most of the students also excelled in the Cambridge IGCSE examinations.

Principal of the school, Mr. David Raj highlighted the importance of having a good relationship between students and teachers to achieve their objective of holistic education for students. He says the programme will teach students sportsmanship, teamwork and the spirit of sharing.

Mr. Raj disclosed that the school is preparing feverishly to implement several policies that will enhance education and make the school the best destination for parents who desire world class education for their wards.

Mrs. Manju Yadu is an English Tutor and Coordinator of the event for the lower classes. On her part, she was excited that students could still learn very important values through such activities while having fun. 

As some international students travel back to their countries she has encouraged them to return with essays to share their cultural experiences with friends.

DPSI was honoured by the U.S based World Confederation of Businesses (WORLDCOB) in 2014 for being an outstanding educational institute in Ghana.

The school also received an award in 2014 from the West African Regional Magazine for quality education in the sub-region.
