Jesus Is Lord Crusades, in partnership with a team of volunteer health workers have provided free health screening services to hundreds of people at the premises of the Calvary Apostolic Church at Ada Kesseh in the Greater Accra region at the week end.

Jesus is Lord Crusades (J.I.L.C) is a Christian not-for-profit organization with the vision of taking the gospel of Jesus Christ to nations. The organisation holds crusades aimed at meeting the spiritual and physical needs of participants

Various tests, ranging from blood pressure, sugar levels and the rapid diagnostic test (RDT) for malaria, breast and cervical cancers were carried outMr. Andrew R. Hooper, a biomedical lab scientist with the Korle- Bu pathology department, who led the team of health workers on the outreach, said some community members attributed certain diseases to superstitious causes, and were therefore reluctant to report to health facilities.

“We urge the hospitals and health workers here to embark on health education, especially in the surrounding villages, so that people report symptoms of breast and cervical cancers as soon as they experience them”, he admonished.

According to Evangelist Marian Anim, Founder of the Mission, the Jesus Is Lord Crusades organised a two-day crusade and the health screening in the Ada Kesseh community, to touch the hearts of Ghanaians and develop in them the passion to share the faith with others through evangelism. She added that the health outreach was to ensure that the members of the community remain healthy both in sprit and in flesh.

The team also donated baby clothing to breast feeding mothers, bibles, and regular clothing to the members of the community who were present.

The health outreach was organised as part of activities climaxing the Heart of Jesus Evangelism Conferences which begun in Accra from the 16th to 20th, and continued in Ada- Kesseh from the 26th – 28th of June.
